Sea Kayaking Adventures in Alaska

There are several trips available for kayaking in Prince William Sound. All tours use experienced guides, who take every precaution to make your trip enjoyable as well as unforgettable. The following are daily trips but overnight and custom trips can be arranged upon request.

Columbia Glacier

This is the tour! Right up to the Columbia Glacier in sea kayaks, exploring the surrounding islands and waterways at your leisure. Six hours of actual kayaking are part of the tour, the transportation to and from Valdez provided by a chartered vessel. There are many chances for wildlife viewing along the way, including orcas, sea lions, eagles, and others.

Shoup Glacier

Our most popular tour, the Shoup Glacier is tremendous. This tour combines an awesome glacier experience with a unique wildlife experience. The tour travels up a glacial tidewater river to the edge of Shoup Glacier. Shoup Glacier is unique, in that it is inaccessible to motor craft, allowing a more remote experience in a sea kayak. Lunch is taken at the face of Shoup Glacier, which calves on a regular basis. Transportation is provided to and from Shoup Bay entrance by chartered vessel.

Valdez History Tour

For those who have less time there is a short tour along the Valdez Port. On this tour, you will travel through a tidewater area rich in birds, sea otters and occasional seal and sea lions, and eagles. The guide will offer a history of the Valdez area, especially the old Valdez site. The tour is suitable for younger travelers.

Gold Creek Tour

Spend 6 splendid hours paddling the shoreline with a guide and learning about the Prince William Sound Bay.  Delight in the waterfalls and wildlife!  For the advanced paddlers, fishing is available in season!
